Dangerous Temptation by Kathleen Korbel, 1 1/2

Book description: To anthropologist Zeke Kendall, the idea that the heir to the Fairy throne had been watching him, falling in love with him, for years was laughable. Then he met Nuala and lost his heart to her dangerous beauty.

Eldest daughter of the Fairy Queen, Nuala must marry among her own kind to keep the line pure, but her heart has long been possessed by the handsome mortal. Now she will do anything—even align herself with humankind against the terrifying power of her own people—to make him hers.

Review: I picked up the first two books in the new Nocturne line. The first book, Unforgiven by Lindasy McKenna, I couldn’t finish but I somehow managed to make it through Dangerous Temptation. Unfortunately, there’s really nothing good I can say about it. The characters were flat and the romance is underdeveloped. Most of the book is just dull but towards the end one of the most ridiculous rape plot lines I’ve ever seen is introduced. After that the book became actively annoying. I really wanted to like this line and I do think it’s interesting that the line didn’t open with basic vampire or werewolf books. However, if these first offerings are any indication of Nocturne’s quality, I don’t see myself picking up too many of them.
